Engalnd with the help of fighting 41 from Danielle Wyatt-Hodge followed up by a disciplined performance from the bowlers, England beat Bangladesh by 21 runs to start theier campaign with a win.

Earlier, England skipper Heather Knight won the toss and opted to bat first. The inaugral champions with the help of Danielle Wyatt-Hodge’s 41 and Maia Bouchier’s 23, were able to put up a fighting total of 118 for 7 on the board.

For Bangaldesh, Nahida Akter, Fahima Khatun and Ritu Moni tokk two wickets each, while Rabeya Khan got one wicket for herself.

n reply, Bangaldesh were under put under the pressure early by the English bowlers. Skipper Nigar Sultana (15) and Sobhana Mostary (44), tried to put up a fight but the hosts were only able to reach 97 on the loss of seven wickets after the end of 20 overs, giving Engalnd 21 runs win.

For England, Linsey Smith and Charlotte Dean took two wickets each, while Nat Sciver-Brunt and Sarah Glenn got one wicket each under thier name.
