Sai Sudharsan vowed to comeback stronger after undergoing a surgery as he put up a social media post thanking the BCCI and medical team for their efforts on Tuesday.
According to media reports, Sudharsan was in London for the surgery for sports hernia.
The 23-year-old Tamil Nadu played just one game of the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy before heading to National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. While the dates of his return are unknown, he is expected to miss the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy starting later this month.
Sudharsan was part of India A’s tour to Australia in November where he scored 127 runs in two four-day games including a century in the first match. In Ranji Trophy, the left-handed batter hit a double-ton against Delhi and a valuable 82 against Saurashtra in his two outings so far.
He was retained by his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Gujarat Titans for Rs. 8.5 crore ahead of the mega auction.
