NEW DELHI: Hours after initially withdrawing from the New Zealand tour, Pakistan‘s batting coach Mohammad Yousuf reversed his decision on Tuesday and confirmed his availability for the white-ball series.
Earlier, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had announced Yousuf’s withdrawal, citing his daughter’s illness as the reason.

A PCB official confirmed, “Yousuf has informed the board that his daughter is now in better health so he is available to go with the team to New Zealand.”
Yousuf, appointed as the batting coach for this series, will depart with the team on Wednesday for the scheduled five T20Is and three ODIs.
His appointment as batting coach followed Pakistan’s unsuccessful campaign in the recently concluded Champions Trophy.
The PCB retained the existing support staff structure, with Aaqib Javed continuing as interim head coach and Azhar Mahmood as assistant coach. Yousuf was the sole new addition to this setup.
The board has announced plans to advertise for a permanent head coach position after the completion of this tour.
