A scary incident took place during the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday with Ashutosh Sharma and Mukesh Choudhary suffering a nasty collision on the field. The incident took place in the 19th over of the MI innings after DC skipper Axar Patel opted to field, in which Tilak Varma sliced a slower ball from Mohit Sharma towards short third man, where Ashutosh and Mukesh converged while attempting to collect the catch.

Watch the incident here:

Even as Tilak capitalised on the missed opportunity to run three, the cameras were fixed on the two fielders who lay on the ground as the situation quickly turned serious. The team physio rushed to the centre at a moment’s notice as Axar and the rest of the DC players converged around Ashutosh and Mukesh, who grabbed the shoulder of his bowling arm after the impact.

Thankfully for the Capitals, the collision wasn’t serious enough to cause a season-ending injury to either player. While Ashutosh walked off the field with the physio and is expected to walk out to bat during DC’s chase, Mukesh recovered quickly enough to bowl the final over of the MI innings.

The Delhi pacer conceded 11 runs while getting the wicket of Tilak (59 off 33) as the five-time champions finished with a competitive score of 205/5.
