Delhi Capitals pulled off its highest successful chase in the Indian Premier League, against Lucknow Super Giants in its IPL 2025 opener in Vizag on Sunday.
In a final-over thriller, Delhi Capitals pulled off a one-wicket win, chasing down LSG’s target of 210. Ashutosh Sharma played the starring role for DC with a 31-ball 66, finishing the game with a six.
LSG took the upper hand in the game early in the chase by reducing DC to seven for three inside the second over. Soon, the home side fell to five for 65, before Tristian Stubbs and Ashutosh sparked the fightback.
The momentum swung further in favour of DC thanks
This is only the second time Delhi Capitals has chased down a 200+ target in IPL.
Delhi Capitals’ previous best chase came in 2017, when it (then Delhi Daredevils) hunted down a 209-run target against Gujarat Lions.
