DC vs SRH, IPL 2025: Bolstered by Rahul’s arrival, Delhi Capitals looks to go all guns blazing against Sunrisers Hyderabad

Bolstered by the arrival of new parent K.L. Rahul, Delhi Capitals will hope to bring the curtains down on its time at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium with a win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League on Sunday.

Its previous fixture at the venue against Lucknow Super Giants threw up plenty of positives. An audacious effort with the bat helped the side snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. LSG underlining the mortality of the feared SRH batting order a few days later would have only added to the DC’s confidence.

Rahul adds solidity to a shaky top order which struggled against the Super Giants. All eyes will be on Jake Fraser McGurk who managed a solitary run. If he gets his campaign on track early, the Capitals will be a formidable force this season.

DC’s bowling did well to restrict LSG to just 209 when it looked primed for much more and will hope to channel the same against SRH’s top three. Mitchell Starc vs Travis Head promises to be a thrilling battle that has gone in the former’s favour in recent times.

In Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav, the Capitals have the goods to smother runs in the middle overs and test Sunrisers’ preternatural batting might. SRH will hope its bowlers, who have been expensive in both games, can hit their lengths and trouble DC.

With the Capitals showing that it can go all guns blazing against sloppy bowling, Pat Cummins and Co. will need to bring their A-game against the ‘home’ side.
