Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming has said that he didn’t know that Ravichandran Ashwin had a YouTube channel and he does not follow things like that, after a lot of eyebrows were raised on a video on the channel where panellists criticised the Chennai outfit, for which Ashwin plays.

Chennai suffered their third successive loss after going down against the Delhi Capitals by 25 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, their second loss at home this season.

Asked about the video during the post-match press conference, Fleming had difficulty understanding the question at first. He later said that he wasn’t too fussed about it.

“Mate, I have no idea. I don’t even know he had a channel, so I don’t follow that stuff. That’s irrelevant. You guys are important,” Fleming said.

Chennai haven’t been able to chase a target of over 175 since the last four seasons. On Saturday, Vijay Shankar and former India captain MS Dhoni remained unbeaten on 69 and 30.

Chennai coach Fleming said that he knows his franchise needs to improve their performance when chasing big targets.

“We are looking to find the formula that will get us over the line. We are certainly well aware of the chasing stat. We are focusing, bowling-wise, to restrict teams below that, but we do need to be better with the bat,” Fleming said.

“You look at the teams that are doing well and you see that the majority of runs are getting scored through the top three or top four. A little bit more run-production there allows the power hitters to come at the right spots,” Fleming added.

Chennai skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has expressed his concerns with the team’s struggles in the powerplay and said that they are over concerned or tentative about how they fare in the first six overs with both bat and ball.

Chennai suffered their third loss in four outings in this edition of the Indian Premier League, going down by 25 runs to the Delhi Capitals at Chepauk.

“Not today. For the last three games, it’s not going our way. We’re trying our level best in all three departments,” Gaikwad said while speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony.
