India’s stand-in skipper Smriti Mandhana smashed seven boundaries in a row during the third and final T20 International against West Indies at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on Thursday.
Mandhana began her charge with three consecutive fours off the last three balls of the innings’ third over, which was bowled by right-arm medium pacer Chinelle Henry. She then continued the assault by hammering Deandra Dottin’s bowling for three fours and a six off consecutive deliveries in the next over.
Earlier, India lost opener Uma Chetry for a two-ball duck after West Indies elected to bowl. The three-match series is poised 1-1.
While India won the first match by 49 runs, the visitor bounced back with a thumping nine-wicket win in the second game to level the series.
