India vs Australia: Here’s all you need to know about where to watch the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Live on TV in India.
The Indian men’s cricket team is in Australia these days to take part in a five-match Test series. The first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy kicked off on Friday (November 22) in Perth. India’s stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah decided to bat first at Optus Stadium after winning the toss, but his decision backfired after India lost four batters for just 51 runs in the morning session. Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood picked up a couple of wickets each to put India in a spot of bother. In their first match on Australian soil, both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal failed to open their accounts. While Jaiswal was out for an eight-ball duck, Padikkal faced 23 balls.
India will expect Rishabh Pant to lead the comeback and help the visitors post a decent total in the first innings of the match. India is playing the first Test with three seamers, one pace-bowling all-rounder and one spin-bowling all-rounder. Washington Sundar is preferred over the senior duo of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja after his good show in the last Test series against New Zealand, which India lost with a scoreline of 0-3.
India has included two uncapped players in the playing XI for the first Test, whereas the hosts have handed debut to Nathan McSweeney, who will open the innings along with Usman Khawaja. For India, Harshit Rana is playing his first international match, and Andhra all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is also part of playing XI. Reddy made his T20I debut for India last month against Bangladesh and played in all three matches of the series.
During the shortest format series, 21-year-old Reddy impressed with his batting and bowling, and he will hope to come up with a good show in the Perth Test as well.
