IPL 2025 Points Table, Orange Cap and Purple Cap after DC vs MI: Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 12 runs in their 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.
Sent in to bat, Tilak Varma hit a 33-ball 59 to power Mumbai Indians to 205 for five. Ryan Rickelton (41 off 25 balls), Suryakumar Yadav (40 off 28 balls) and Naman Dhir (38 off 17 balls) also made useful contributions. For DC, Vipraj Nigam (2/41) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/23) snapped two wickets each, while Mukesh Kumar (1/38) took one.
In reply, DC were all out for 193 in 19 overs, despite Karun Nair’s 40-ball 89. Karn Sharma (3/36) claimed three wickets, while Mitchell Santner (2/43) took two wickets.
DC suffered their first loss of the season as MI registered their second win so far in IPL 2025.
Ealier in the day, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) cruised to a dominant nine-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals slipped to second spot after their loss, due to a lower net run rate (NRR) compared to current table-toppers Gujarat Titans, as both teams have 8 points to their name.
RCB jumped LSG to rise up into third position with 8 points, but a better NNR.
MI climbed up into 6th spot with their win as RR went down one place to 8th. Chennai Super Kings are in the last place now, below Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Orange Cap
Virat Kohli climbed into the top 5 in the race for the orange cap after an unbeaten 45-ball 62. The star RCb batter is currently in 4th position with 248 runs from six games.
LSG wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran leads the top batters list and has 349 from six matches.
Suryakumar Yadav of the Mumbai Indians scored 40 runs from 28 balls on Sunday and currently sits in sixth spot with 239 runs from six games.
Gujarat Titans batter Sai Sudharsan is in 2nd place with 329 runs to his name. His GT teammate Jos Buttler is in 5th place with 218 runs.
Phil Salt smashed 65 from 33 balls and now has 210 runs from 6 games to creep into the Orange Cap’s top 10 table.

Kuldeep Yadav picked up two wickets to breach the top 3 in the Purple Cap race and now has 10 scalps from 5 games. Noor Ahmar leads the table with 12 wickets from 6 games, followed by Shardul Thakur, who has 11 wickets to his name in six matches.
Prasidh Krishna is fourth with 10 wickets, followed by GT teammates R Sai Kishore and Mohammed Siraj, who all have 10 wickets each to their names.
Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya reached the 10-wicket mark and is in 7th position with Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Josh Hazlewood and Delhi Capitals’ Mitchell Starc rounding off the Top 10 in the most wickets table.
