Karun Nair smashed a 22-ball fifty on the Indian Premier League (IPL) comeback during the 2025 season’s clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.
The 33-year-old got a game after regualr opener Faf du Plessis sat out of the contest with injury.
Karun smashed star bowler Jasprit Bumrah all over the park with relative ease.

Nair, who has played for four teams – RCB, DC, PBKS and Rajasthan Royals – in the IPL so far and scored 1496 runs, was signed for Rs 50 lakh in the mega auction last year.
He had posted ‘Dear cricket, give me one more chance.’ back in 2022, the last time he played in the IPL. After three years, he made his comeback count.

Karun Nair had an incredible 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) season as he was the leading run-getter in the competition with 255 runs from six innings at an average of 42.5 and a strike-rate of 177.1, with the help of five fiftes and had a top-score of 77.
Not only in the shortest format, but Karun had an impressive 2024-25 domestic season, being the fourth highest run-getter in the Ranji Trophy with 863 runs from nine matches at an average of 54 with the help of four hundreds and two fifties.
