IPL 2025 RR vs CSK Probable Playing XIs, Impact Players: Inaugural edition winners Rajasthan Royals will face five-time champions Chennai Super Kings in the 11th league stage match of IPL 2025 on Sunday (March 30) at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The Royals, after losing two matches in a row, sit at the bottom of the IPL 2025 points table, whereas Chennai Super Kings are also coming into Sunday’s match after going down by 50 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday (March 28).
The Jaipur-based franchise, which is playing its first two home matches in Guwahati, would like to secure the first points of the season in front of stand-in captain Riyan Parag’s home fans. The Assam-based cricketer has failed to deliver with the bat in the IPL 2025 so far, and so has Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was retained for Rs 18 crore ahead of the mega auctions.
CSK, on the other hand, after a forgettable performance against RCB, would also like to bounce back and return to winning ways.
RR’s likely playing XI
For the match against CSK, Royals could make a change at the top of the order and hand an IPL debut to 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The left-handed batter from Bihar is the youngest cricketer to earn an IPL contract, and on Sunday he could open the innings with Jaiswal. Vaibhav’s promotion to the top means Sanju Samson will bat at his usual No. 3 position for Royals, and captain Parag will come in at No. 4.
RR signed Nitish Rana in the IPL 2025 mega auction, but he has failed to fire so far, and he could make way for Vaibhav. Dhurv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer and Wanindu Hasaranga are set to bat in the middle overs for the Jaipur-based franchise.
Despite flop shows by bowlers in the last two matches played against SRH and KKR, Royals are unlikely to make any changes. But there is a possibility that Aakash Madhwal or Kumar Kartikeya could come in as an impact player.
RR’s probable playing XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag (C), Dhruv Jurel (WK), Shimron Hetmyer, Wanindu Hasaranga, Jofra Archer, Maheesh Theekshana, Tushar Deshpande, Sandeep Sharma
Impact players: Nitish Rana, Aakash Madhwal, Shubham Dubey
CSK’s likely playing XI
CSK batters looked clueless in the 197-run chase against RCB on Friday, and the team management will expect better performances from the likes of Deepak Hooda and Rahul Tripathi. The former RR batters will have a point to prove on Sunday; otherwise, Vijay Shankar and Devon Conway will replace them.
For the match against RR, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad could open the innings with Rachin Ravindra, and Shivam Dube will bat at No. 4. It will also be interesting to see MS Dhoni’s batting position after he faced a lot of criticism for coming out to bat at No. 9 vs RCB.
CSK’s probable playing XI: Rachin Ravindra, Rahul Tripathi, Ruturaj Gaikwad (C), Deepak Hooda, Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (WK), Ravichandran Ashwin, Noor Ahmad, Matheesha Pathirana, Khaleel Ahmed
Impact players: Shivam Dube, Anshul Kamboj, Vijay Shankar
