NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians‘ fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the second pacer in Indian Premier League history to take 20 or more wickets in four different seasons. He has matched the achievement of the team’s bowling coach, Lasith Malinga, who also accomplished this feat during his IPL career.
Bumrah got to the milestone during the IPL 2024 match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday. He returned with the figures of 2/39 in 4 overs.
Bumrah looked unplayable and teased the batters by bowling a Test match length, knocking over a clueless Sunil Narine off his first ball with a delivery that angled away but swung in late to rattle his off-stump. He ended his splendid spell by dismissing Rinku Singh for a 12-ball 20.
