Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders filled 15 slots after spending 50.95 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. They broke the bank to have all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer, splurging Rs 23.75 crore. Their second most-expensive purchase was South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje – worth Rs 6.5 crore. They also had a few steal deals as they acquired Ajinkya Rahane, Umran Malik, and Moeen Ali at their base prices.
