Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL Match Today: Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be looking to redeem themselves in their upcoming clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) after suffering a crushing defeat to a Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians at Wankhede.

MI debutant Ashwani Kumar stole the spotlight in that match as he ran through KKR’s batting order. His Player of the Match spell of 4/24 saw MI win by eight wickets with 7.1 overs remaining. Under-pressure skipper Ajinkya Rahane will now hope to inspire his team to their second win of the season against familiar foes SRH.

KKR and SRH played three matches last year: once in the group stage, the first Qualifier and the Final, with the former emerging victorious in all matches. The iconic Eden Gardens will host the repeat on April 3, starting at 7:30 pm IST.

SRH are also coming into the game off a heartbreaking defeat in their previous clash. The 2016 winners lost to an Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals last week. Mitchell Starc won the Player of the Match for his 5/35 spell as DC secured a seven-wicket victory.

Kolkata Pitch and Weather Forecast

The Eden Garden has been typically more favorable to batters in the IPL. The surface in Kolkata is generally flat which provides true bounce, making it ideal for easier stroke play.

Pacers can make use of the extra bounce to make an early impact. Despite its batting-friendly conditions, Kolkata’s pitch still isn’t as flat as Bengaluru or Hyderabad’s.

The weather in Kolkata will be partly cloudy on April 3 with a six percent chance of precipitation. Temperatures will hover around 37 degrees Celsius during the day which will drop to 27 degrees Celsius at night.

Wind speeds will range between 10 km/h to 15 km/h, whereas the humidity levels should not exceed 70 percent.
