The Australian women’s cricket team will wrap up their summer with a three-match T20 series against New Zealand, which kicks off in Auckland on Friday.
The White Ferns are the reigning world champions having lifted the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates last year, while Australia was knocked out in the semi-finals by South Africa.

“We’re coming off the back of a successful (Ashes T20) series and we want to finish off the season really well,” Australia coach Shelley Nitschke said on Wednesday.
“There’s only nine T20s between now and the next world T20 World Cup (in 2026).
“When you start to break it down like that, I think every opportunity that you get to play in that format is going to be really valuable for us.

“We’ll certainly look to keep pushing (the limits of) how we’re playing and play a really exciting brand of cricket.”
The series opener gets underway at Eden Park on Friday at 12.45pm AEDT.
