Mumbai Indians players were seen having some quality time ahead of their first home game as they got ready to face defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday, chasing an elusive win in IPL 2025.

Star spinner Vignesh Puthur, who impressed one and all with his special spell against the Chennai Super Kings and wicketkeeper Shrijith Krishnan were seen exercising in the pool, while Rohit Sharma was seen clicking pictures with some fans.

Skipper Hardik Pandya was seen enjoying a game of cricket with son Agastya while Bevon Jacobs indulged in a net session. Watch the video here:

Having made a start so typical of them in IPL 2025, Mumbai will hope for a quick turnaround when they take on defending champions Kolkata at their home ground in Mumbai.

Beginning an Indian Premier League season with a string of defeats is not new for Mumbai who have lost two matches till now to Chennai and the Gujarat Titans.

IPL’s perennial slow-starters are known for getting their act together to win the trophy. But to get back on track, Mumbai will require better execution from their bowlers and consistency from the batters, when they lack specialist finishers lower in the order.

Rohit has been blowing hot and cold with the bat, while the big-hitting Ryan Rickelton is yet to find his rhythm on the Indian tracks in his first Indian Premier League.

While Rickelton has provided glimpses of his talent, he has not been able to fire. Rohit, on the other hand, has fallen for two single-digit scores which includes a duck, and criticism has expectedly grown.

Suryakumar Yadav looked to be getting back into form with his 48 against Gujarat, but the innings was not the one in which he flourished the way he is known for.

Kolkata and Mumbai have faced each other in 34 games in the Indian Premier League. Out of these 34 matches, Kolkata have won 11 whereas Mumbai have come out victorious on 23 occasions.
