Rajasthan Royals’ batting suffered a middle-order collapse during its IPL 2025 match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Guwahati on Wednesday.
The Riyan Parag-led side scored 54 runs in the PowerPlay but could only post 151/9 in its 20 overs. Dhruv Jurel top-scored with 33 runs from 25 deliveries but he failed to find support at the other end. This was the lowest total a team posted in this year’s edition.
Varun Chakaravarthy starred with the ball for KKR, picking two wicket and giving away just 17 runs.
The lowest total defended by the side is 144. The Royals defended it against KKR during the 2013 season at Jaipur. The side also defended 144 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the 2022 season.
If RR is able to defend this target, it will be the fourth-lowest total defended in the franchise’s history.
