Shubman Gill included in Punjab squad for Ranji Trophy match against Karnataka

Shubman Gill features in Punjab’s 15-member squad for its Ranji Trophy fixture against Karnataka, starting January 23.

Following the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)‘s advise to the international players asking them to feature in the next round of domestic cricket, Shubman confirmed his participation to the Punjab Cricket Association and accordingly, he was included in the final squad.

After five rounds, Punjab is fifth in the Group C points table with one win, two losses and two draw games.

Gill will be making his Ranji Trophy return after 2022 when he played against Madhya Pradesh in the quarterfinals in Alur. 

The 25-year-old had a forgettable series against Australia where he just managed 93 runs across three matches at an average of 18.60, with a top score of 31. India lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 1-3.
