Smriti Mandhana played 23 T20Is for India last year and, with the help of eight half-centuries, scored 763 runs to finish as the leading run scorer.

Star Indian opening batter Smriti Mandhana, wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh, and all-rounder Deepti Sharma on Saturday, January 25, were named in the ICC Women’s T20I Team of the Year 2024. Mandhana played 23 T20Is for India last year and scored 763 runs, which was the most by any player.
Richa, on the other hand, scored 365 runs in 21 matches with a strike rate of 156.65. The youngster from Bengal scored two half-centuries for Women in Blue in 2024.
Deepti played 23 T20Is for India in 2024 and dismissed 30 batters. In addition to that, she also scored 115 runs.
South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt was named as captain of the ICC Women’s T20I team. Laura scored 673 runs in 19 matches for the South African women’s team in the shortest format of the game last year and also led them to the Women’s T20 World Cup final.
Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu, West Indies captain Hayley Matthews, England all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt, New Zealand’s Melie Kerr, South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp, Ireland’s Orla Prendergast, and Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal are other players picked in the ICC team.
Athapaththu amassed a total of 720 runs in 21 T20Is, whereas Matthews scored 538 runs and picked up 14 wickets in 16 matches.
Nat Sciver-Brunt played 16 matches for the English team in 2024, and apart from scoring 423 runs with the bat, she accounted for the dismissal of seven batters.
T20 World Cup 2024 Player of the Tournament Kerr scored 387 runs and dismissed 29 batters for the White Ferns last year.
Sadia played 19 matches for Pakistan and dismissed 30 batters, whereas in 18 matches for Ireland, Orla Prendergast scored 544 runs and accounted for the dismissal of 21 batters.
Kapp also played a big role in T20Is for South Africa last year, and in addition to scoring 399 runs in 16 matches, she dismissed 11 opposition batters.
Wolvaardt, Mandhana, Athapaththu, Matthews, Deepti, and Kapp were included in the ICC Women’s ODI Team of the Year 2024 as well, which was released by the ICC on Friday.
