Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Lucknow Super Giants IPL 2025: Probable Playing XIs, Impact Players
The Sunrisers Hyderabad are set to take on the Lucknow Super Giants in Match 7 of the Indian Premier League 2025, where the two sides will play at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday.
LSG, led by Rishabh Pant, are coming after a grueling defeat to the Delhi Capitals by one wicket, thanks to an iconic knock by Ashutosh Sharma. Meanwhile, the Pat Cummins-led SRH side are in top form, particularly with the bat as they smashed a whopping 286 thanks to the likes of Ishan Kishan, Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen, who looked in top form with the bat.
Despite the crushing defeat to start their campaign, LSG will be optimistic considering how they were in the game after taking early wickets in the second innings. Shardul Thakur provided his new franchise the perfect start with two early wickets to put the side in front.
SRH’s Likely Playing XI
After a fine display in their opening game, SRH are not expected to make too many changes to their side. The only change that they could consider is regarding their choice of impact substitute. Since the tracks in Hyderabad do not offer much turn, they could consider bringing in an additional all-rounder in Wiaan Mulder to ensure that they can add the extra batter to an already powerful batting unit to take on a weakened bowling line-up.
In addition, Abhishek Sharma will be looking to go big this time, considering how he would have fallen short by his lofty standards. The opposition will have a tough task of going past a solid batting unit in the top five, and it remains to be seen how the middle-order is able to react in a situation where they are under the pump.
LSG’s Likely Playing XI
While the batting unit showed stellar signs, Rishabh Pant has not yet stepped up to the party. But the conditions in Hyderabad could be the spark to help him get back to form and deliver a big knock to put LSG in contention to go the way.
In addition, the side could make a change by dropping one of their spin-bowling options to give a chance to Rajvardhan Hangarkekar to help improve their fast-bowling attack. Shardul Thakur is expected to continue leading the charge with he new ball, and LSG would hope he can continue being the difference in the powerplay.
A big boost for the Lucknow Super Giants would be that Avesh Khan has been reportedly declared fit and cleared to rejoin his franchise. However, it remains to be seen if LSG would push him straight back into the side.
