India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, who is playing for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2025 match against Gujarat Titans, suffered an injury scare on Saturday (March 29). The right-handed batter was hit on the helmet by Prasidh Krishna. The incident took place on the first ball of the 14th over of MI’s innings.
The video of Prasidh’s delivery to Suryakumar that hit him on the helmet is now going viral on the internet.
However, after attending medical attention for a brief period, the 34-year-old cricketer was back on his feet and ready to face the next ball.
Surya faced 28 balls for MI on Saturday, and with the help of one four and four sixes, scored 48 runs. He was sent back to the pavilion by Krishna on the last ball of the 16th over.
The third-leading run scorer for MI tried to play a big shot but failed to connect with the ball properly, and it went straight up, after which GT captain Shubman Gill completed a simple catch.
