Baroda posted the highest team total in T20 cricket on Thursday, scoring 349 for five in 20 overs against Sikkim in Indore and becoming the first side to post a 300-plus score in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Zimbabwe held the record for the highest team total in the format when it scored 344 runs against Gambia in October this year.

The last season’s runner-up was led by batter Bhanu Pania who remained unbeaten on 134 off just 51 deliveries. Abhimanyu Singh, Vishnu Solanki and Shivalik Sharma also struck half-centuries.

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who played during the earlier rounds in the tournament, was not named in the starting lineup.
