Bangladesh cricketer Tamim Iqbal suffered a heart attack while fielding during a Dhaka Premier League match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Shinepukur Cricket Club on Monday.
Tamim, representing Mohammedan, experienced discomfort in the first innings and was immediately taken to Fazilatunnesa Hospital for medical attention. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) physician Dr. Debashish Chowdhury confirmed the incident.
Further details on his condition and recovery are awaited. The 34-year-old, one of Bangladesh’s most celebrated batters, recently retired from T20Is and stepped down as ODI captain last year.
