While RR have lost both their matches so far, CSK made a solid start by beating Mumbai Indians (MI) in their opener.

However, they suffered a
50-run defeat in the second IPL 2025 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Chepauk. This was RCB’s first win at Chepauk since 2008. While chasing 197, CSK were restricted to 146/8 after winning the toss. Dhoni batted at No.9 and scored 30 not out off 16, however, he came to bat only in the 16th over by which the game had slipped out of CSK’s hands.

At the time of Dhoni’s entry, CSK were at 99/7, inches away from an embarrassing defeat. The
social media showed no mercy to Dhoni as he was criticised by both fans and experts. Now, it will be interesting to see what will be CSK’s strategy today.
