Mumbai Indians’ fielding stars Will Jacks, Mitchell Santner and Raj Angad Bawa were involved in a thrilling finish against Delhi Capitals in an IPL 2025 match on Sunday. The trio pulled off three stunning runouts in three consecutive deliveries of the 19th over, completing a rare team hat-trick that powered MI to a dramatic 12-run win at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Following the game, the fielding heroes posed for a celebratory locker room photo with fielding coach Carl Hopkinson.

DC lost Ashutosh Sharma, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohit Sharma off those deliveries.

The hosts needed 23 runs off the final 12 deliveries to take the win on Sunday. Ashutosh smashed two boundaries off the first three deliveries in Jasprit Bumrah’s over to improve the chances of his team’s victory.

He was dismissed on the fourth delivery while attempting to complete a second run.

Next batter Kuldeep Yadav was nabbed similarly, falling short at the striker’s end after hitting the ball towards long on and going for a second run.

Mohit Sharma, whereas, was on the receiving end of a direct hit from Mitchell Santner.

The New Zealand white-ball captain stopped the ball midwicket and made a one-handed throw straight onto the stumps at the non-striker’s end.

Following the match, MI skipper Hardik Pandya said despite DC being in control of the chase at one stage, the visitors never lost hope.

“Just by making sure the game is not over, ‘keep fighting’ was the chatter. We knew a couple of wickets would change the game. It has happened with me before as well. Wins like this change the momentum and turn everything around,” Pandya said after the match.

“Winning is always special. Especially in games like this. You have to keep fighting and it means a lot,” he added.

MI will now aim for a second successive win in IPL 2025. They will next play last year’s finalists Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 17. The match will be hosted at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
