WPL 2025: Nat Sciver-Brunt becomes first player to score 500 runs in a Women’s Premier League season

Nat Sciver-Brunt became the first player in the history of the Women’s Premier League to score 500 runs in a single season of the tournament.

The English all-rounder scripted history during the WPL 2025 final between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium on Saturday. She scored 30 runs off 28 balls before she holed out Minnu Mani at square leg off N. Charani’s bowling.

Earlier in her knock, Sciver-Brunt also became the first player to reach 1000 runs in WPL.

Most runs in a single WPL season

Nat Sciver-Brunt (Mumbai Indians) – 523 runs in WPL 2025

Ellyse Perry (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) – 347 runs in WPL 2024

Meg Lanning (Delhi Capitals) – 345 runs in WPL 2023

Sciver-Brunt has been in imperious form with the bat, consistently notching up fine knocks for MI, averaging at just over 70 and striking at more than 150. Her highest score this year was the unbeaten 59-ball 80 against Delhi Capitals on February 15.

Ahead of the summit clash, she scored five half-centuries.

In the inaugural season – where Sciver-Brunt was adjudged the Player of the Match in the final with an unbeaten 60 – she had finished second (332 runs) to Meg Lanning (345 runs) in the Orange Cap standings. Last season, Sciver-Brunt had scored 172 runs in nine innings.
