Yashasvi Jaiswal’s strained relationship with Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane led to his switch to Goa. Jaiswal reportedly kicked Rahane’s kit bag in anger during the 2025 Ranji Trophy.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s relationship with Mumbai red-ball captain Ajinkya Rahane had reportedly gone sour over the last few years and became a big reason behind his switch to Goa. According to a report by India Today, Jaiswal even kicked Rahane’s kit bag in anger during the 2025 Ranji Trophy after feeling wrongly targeted by the captain and coach Omkar Salvi after Mumbai’s defeat to Jammu and Kashmir in the group stage.
